Project Vulcan is the culmination of my skills as an Industrial Designer aiming to bridge my career into the film industry. The short film is the end product of my Industrial Design Honours project Cinematic Design Odyssey: Dissecting a Future in Film & Design. In this project I analysed and broke down the skills involved in working within the film industry. Undertaking comprehensive historical analysis of Design and Film, conducting expert interviews with people in the Australian film space and imparting my own experiences with working in the industry, led me down a path of exploring how I can bring my skills as an industrial designer together, creating a detailed and high quality short film that encompasses many processes, techniques and ability to work in many roles and under a tight timeframe.
Everything you see in this film was designed, prototyped, constructed, filmed, and edited by me. - Alexander Clemente
