Working under guidance from Prop Designer Nick Pledge, we had to come up with a set to stage toys and serve as a backdrop for another Moose Toys Commercial.

Working out what's needed
This Job proved to be an interesting challenge for Nick and I, as it was hard to determine at the start what was actually needed from the client. The large open set felt very empty to begin with and lacked texture. Working with artist impressions and drawings, we had to try and create a fairytale land up in the clouds.

Multitasking
Throughout this process, I focused on several key elements of the set design. To create a series of clouds that could be internally lit and positioned, we used Chinese lanterns covered with cotton. Meanwhile, I worked on designing a bridge to span the lake on the set, which I 3D-modeled and prepared for printing. Once on set, assembling all the components was a challenge. The lake, hills, bridge, and clouds had to be carefully arranged and dressed to fit the scene and align with the shoot’s lighting setup.
