As a test of a new 3D printer I decided to print and recreate the iconic Facehugger from the Alien Film series

This project was a joint effort by myself and my partner, starting with me finding a 3D model of a facehugger and then modifying it for printing, splitting it up and creating ball and socket joints to create movement in the fingers and the tail. Then printing everything out, my partner took it and begun to paint and weather it, layering acrylic paint and then Modge Podge to create the glossy effect shown.

Photo-shoot
Staging each shot with lighting and effects help really bring the fachugger to life. We sprayed it with water and used tools like a soldering iron like a medical probe that we could poke the creature with. We wanted to almost tell a story with the shots, to show what could really go wrong when the incorrect precautions are taken when handling something as deadly as this.
