Synopsis

Working under guidance from Prop Designer Nick Pledge, I worked on this miniature castle set as a part of an advertising job with Moose Toys for their Stretch Strikers toy line.

Engaging with a film crew
Working as a runner and under a set dresser, I helped decorate and set up the set for the commercial shoot. I decorated and touched up the walls and bridge of the castle, working under the command of a director to place and move components where necessary to work around the needs of the shoot,, being considerate of timing and efficiency on set.

Constructing a
complex set
Working under the guidance of Nick Pledge, and teaming up with Leslie Wakatsuki, we tackled the interesting task of making a large scale miniature. Using CAD we worked out how to make a modular system that would allow for ease of assembly on the shoot. The bridge was designed around specific size specifications and the walls of the castle were designed around being CNC'd to make perfect brick patterns in the walls. Everything was painted, weathered and then transported and assembled by us for shooting with a film crew.
